I think, being able to access Facebook in your car is too far. That is why the Web 2.0 is my least favorite form of media. I love books, and yes, they are a form of media.
image courtesy of Google imagesBooks have personality. Technology doesn't. Books are personal, technology isn't. I ask you, gentle readers, when was the last time you picked up a book, for fun?
Okay, so maybe not that kind of fun, but the kind of fun where you are transported to another world. Books are amazing, they hold a new adventure each day. They could also be classified as an escape. You might say, "Well I read books, on my Kindle." Dear, dear reader, that isn't the same. It might be more convenient to read a book on a Kindle, but it depletes some of the experience. You have to hold the book to understand.
I have a mission for you: go to your local library, go to any random bookshelf, pick up a book. Check it out, sit on the floor and read a few pages. You might be surprised about what you find. If you get bored, switch books, a new adventure awaits you everytime.
Until next time,
Your resident geek
I like your last bit of advice in this excellent blog post, Tasha.
